AIA House Project

AIA House at Smales Farm in Takapuna is undergoing a significant transformation to enhance its architectural appeal and functionality. The building’s new facade crafted by Rucon, features a modern design that aligns with contemporary aesthetics, contributing to the innovative environment of Smales Farm.

Internally, a comprehensive structural upgrade has been implemented to ensure the building meets the highest standards of safety and resilience. This was a combination of extensive structural steel components, reinforcing, and carbon fibre (also known as FRP; fibre reinforced polymer).

The fit-out includes the introduction of B:HIVE+ (an extension of the renowned B:HIVE co-working space), occupying levels 1 and 2 of AIA House. This A-grade space is designed with flexibility and adaptability in mind, featuring a central light-filled atrium, dedicated office spaces along the perimeter, and collaborative zones at the core. Members will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including kitchens, EOT (End of Trip) dining areas, meeting pods, and extensive indoor planting, all complemented by designer furnishings.
B:HIVE+ is set to open in March 2025, offering a dynamic workspace that fosters innovation and community within the vibrant setting of Smales Farm.

Client: Smales Farm  Construction Value: Circa $30m   Project Completed: Under construction. Complete 2025.
